Bonfire and Firework Events
Friday 4th November
Saturday 5th November
Sunday 6th November
Various locations across Leicestershire
The 5th November is a date which has been celebrated for over 400 years, marking the date in 1605 when Guy Fawkes, a member of the gun powder plot, made an attempt to bomb London’s houses of parliament, and with it King James I. On the eleventh hour his plot was foiled and since then bonfires have been lit across the UK, and other parts of the world, as a celebration.
It is a day which is now marked throughout the country by a night of revelry and fireworks. Communities are brought together at organised events which now incorporate a variety of food stalls, fairground rides and even live entertainment.
There are a number of celebrations taking place across Leicestershire this year at local parks, museums and sporting venues. So wrap up warm this Autumn and join in the celebrations at one of the regions great family outdoor events.
